Web Evaluation for Teachers

The two websites that I have evaluated are The Charles A. Dana Center and Texas Education Agency. The Dana Center is utilized by teachers and administrators to assist in the teaching and learning in the subject areas of math and science. This website also provides teachers from kinder to twelve grade support in implementing high academic standards for all students. The purpose of the Dana Center is to provide Educators with the tools to promote and strengthen the precollegiate mathematics and science in all grade levels. The second website that I have evaluated is the Texas Education Agency. This website is provided by the state and educators and administrators utilized this website to obtain information in all aspects of education. This website provides information to parents, students, teachers, administrators, and districts across the state. Information such as the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, TAKS release test, accountability and curriculum and educational programs and much more. Some of the positives about these two websites are they provide prudent information for not just our educators and administrators but our parents as well. They provide sufficient information that assist teachers in developing high order thinking lessons and planning appropriately so to promote student achievement. On the negative side even though the Dana Center provides adequate information and lesson activity samples with the TEK connected it still lacks vast variety of sample lessons that teachers can work from. As for the Texas Education Agency, even though it provides a vast amount of information in different areas it lacks a simplified way to locate information in a more expedient manner. As we gear up to the 21st. Century these two websites are a valuable tool to our Texas teachers and will certainly assist them in gearing up to the more digital world of teaching and living in the life of our students.
